About Us
_ The Forest Kitchen was established in February 2011 by husband and wife team, Chris and Rona Macaskill.
We are a small family business, which specialises in the production of Traditional Scottish Tablet, Whisky Fudge and Oatcakes. We are based near Inverness on the shores of Loch Ness and use as many locally sourced ingredients as possible in our products. Having only recently begun trading, we entered the Great Taste Awards in 2011 and received recognition and two awards for our Oatcakes and Whisky Fudge (Rated highest in the UK in its category).
It was growing up on the West Coast of Scotland where Rona's love of great food developed, learning by her mother's and grandmother's side. For ten years her parents ran a successful restaurant which featured in The Egon Ronay Guide for a number of consecutive years.
